Added Value Options for Your Eyewear

Added value options for your quality eyewear will improve comfort, appearance and durability. We no longer live in the world of one size fits all.

Crizal Alize with Clear Guard is a premier factory applied anti-reflective coating combined with TD2, which is the best anti-scratch protection on the market. With the combination of the anti-reflective coating and reduced glare from scratches, you will have less reflective glare from head lights, computer screens and the world in general. Your eyewear will last longer and look better due to the reduction of reflections.

Crizal and TD 2 (tm) are factory processes that layer and bond the lens treatments and make them an intergal part of the lens surfaces that won't craze or peal. This process can not be matched in a one-hour process or in a dipped coating.

TD 2 Super scratch resistant lens is the premium protection for your lenses against scratches. This lens treatment comes with a lens replacement warrantee against scratches. This coating is recommended if you are traditionally hard on your eyewear.

Photogrey is the original tint change eyewear and still is the most effective fast changing glass lens on the market. For many people photogrey lenses will eliminate the need for a second pair of sunglasses.

Photogrey lenses are particularly beneficial for people that go from indoors to outdoors often throughout the day. They do not work as well as regular sunglasses for driving.

Transitions color change plastic lenses allow you to use a single pair of light weight eyewear with for indoor and outdoor use. Like photogrey, Transitions will often eliminate the need for sunglasses and allow you to go from indoors to outdoors with comfort. They do not work as well as sunglasses for driving.

Polaroid is a type of lens that significantly reduces reflected glare from pavement, water, snow or other surfaces. It is a favorite of fishermen because it helps you see the fish in the water without being blinded by reflections off of the water.

High Index lens materials allows us to make your lenses thinner which will give you more stylish choices for fashion frames when you have a strong prescription. High index lenses are lighter, more attractive and more comfortable.

Polished Edges A bright clear polish on the edge of your lenses can make a thicker lens into a fashion statement. It is a great way to dress up your fashion eyewear.

Polycarbonate Lenses are made of a plastic material that is extremely tough. They are difficult to break and they will not shatter. It is an excellent protective lens and will often be recommended for construction workers, sports enthusiasts, childrens eyewear or for people with only one good eye that they wish to protect.

Tinting and Shading is often desired as a subtle or dramatic fashion statement. It can also be beneficial for specific needs such as night driving or enhanced sports performance. (See the section on sunglasses for more information).

Ultra-Violet Protection is recommended for people that spend excessive time out doors. The clear UVcoating will cut the damaging wavelengths of light and decrease eyestrain. Ultra-violet protection is especially important if you live or play at high altitude or spend significant time out doors on snow or water. (These are situation in which Ultra-violet radiation is dangerously elevated.)

Research has proven that increased exposure to ultraviolet radiation is one of the factors in developing cataracts, macular degeneration, dry eye and other eye health problems. We recommend ultra violet protection for all or our patients with Macular Degeneration, developing Cataracts, Dry Eye or Retinitis Pigmentosa.
